The rising network speed and efficiency, the increase in investment in the broadband infrastructure has opened up numerous video over IP business opportunities.
The increase in SVoD services in developing markets in the coming years is forecasted to support OTT (Over-The-Top) business growth. For example, by the end of 2019 OTT videos are expected to rise to nearly 6.4 trillion, almost 103 million of emerging market households. However, just 1.3 percent of the developing market, with a consumer base of 19.4 million, received SVoD services in 2014. While OTT videos are predominantly subsidized in ads across developing markets, paying models are gaining steam across hybrid business models, whereby providers provide free user-base content, while concurrently positioning prime premium video on demand (SVoD) and transactional TVoD content to produce additional revenues.

In the global leading service market, North America is projected to appear as a dominant region. Netflix, Inc. and Amazon.com, Inc. are estimated to make an investment of approximately US$ 22 Bn in 2019 in TV and movie content compared with US$ 21.7 Bn for National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), CBS, an American commercial television and film distribution network and the American Broadcasting System in 2018, according to a 2019 Telecom Advisory Services LLC Survey. The above figures indicate that major developments in North America are expected to increase the size of the OTT market. The USA has a large market share in OTT services in North America because of the strong Internet penetration relative to other regions that have internet speeds of 13.1 Mbps to 14 Mbps. However, due the overall maturity, entertainment and media industries development in the area is expected to be moderate.
Emergence of new OTT markets
The internet business expansion in the next telcos markets is estimated to reach more than a billion medium-sized customers by 2027. For several OTT clubs, it opens up new markets. The OTT services include texting, speaking, processing of content and video calls. Many of those places are occupied by established telco players' "voice" services. Apps like Google Hangouts, Facetime by Apple, and WhatsApp now deliver creative and enticing voice and video chat features that are easy to the customer. The high quality goods have built their existence and strong customer adoption challenges conventional telco markets, as many telecommunications companies are willing to benefit from the OTT opportunities on the market. This is supposed to provide the OTT market with profitable opportunities.
